We are taking the following precautions due to the COVID-19 virus. All of our technicians have masks, glasses, latex gloves and shoe booties if they have to enter your home. Our technicians also have hand sanitizer and disinfectants that they use after every call.

If we are there to do maintenance and we don’t have to come inside your home to get to the equipment, we are asking homeowners to adjust the thermostat for us so we can do the system maintenance without entering the home. We will not be shaking hands and will keep our distance from customers.

Prepare for Electrical Emergencies with Backup Generators

Prepare for Electrical Emergencies with Backup GeneratorsA long-term electrical outage can result in burst pipes, food spoilage in nonworking refrigerators and freezers and even health problems for those who need power to keep medical equipment working. Backup generators can help you endure a sustained outage by providing power until your local utility company can restore the electricity to your home.

Standby Generators

Standby generators are larger and more powerful models that are permanently installed outside your home. These generators also run on fuel, such as propane or natural gas, but are connected to a steady supply of fuel from the local gas utility company. Standby generators are typically designed to detect an interruption in electrical power and to start automatically when power goes out. They also shut down automatically when power is restored.

Factors to keep in mind when choosing a standby generator, include:

  • Standby generators can be costly: Purchasing and installing a standby generator can cost several hundred to several thousand dollars. However, the convenience and safety offered by backup generators make them a wise investment.
  • Choose the proper size: The generator you choose must be sized correctly to provide the proper amount of electricity during an emergency. Standby generators range in capacity from essential circuit models that can keep necessities powered to whole-house models that can generate enough electricity to power your home normally for an extended period.
